BoxscoreMadison, NJ – Stockton University (5-1) completed its two-game stint at the Drew University Fall Festival with a 2-0 victory over Mount St. Mary (NY) (3-3). The Ospreys extended their win streak to five games with their fifth consecutive shutout.
Marissa Bruno (Toms River/TR East) scored on a penalty kick in the first half and
Chelsea James (Howell/Howell) tacked on an insurance goal in the second half.
Bruno buried a penalty kick with 30:33 gone in the match for her first goal of the season. James netted her second tally of the year at 65:24 as she headed a free kick by
Lauren Bowler (Little Silver/Red Bank Regional) in off the post to complete the scoring in the 2-0 Stockton victory.
Freshman goalkeeper
Nicole Pallante (Brick/Brick Twp.) notched her fourth straight shutout and extended her streak to 424 minutes since she last was beaten for a goal. As a team, the Ospreys have not been scored upon in 478 minutes since the second half of the season opener.
Pallante easily collected the shutout as she did not face a shot on goal. Stockton outshot Mount St. Mary 14-5, with all of the Knights' attempts off the mark including one that hit the crossbar early in the second half when the Ospreys led 1-0.
Stockton returns home to host Centenary on Wednesday at 6 pm.
