BoxscoreEwing, NJ – Stockton University (7-1-3, 0-0-3 NJAC) played its second ranked opponent in a week and earned the same result, a 0-0 tie, this time against undefeated #16 The College of New Jersey (6-0-3, 2-0-1). The draw extended Stockton's unbeaten streak to 10 games (7-0-3). The Ospreys played #25 Montclair State to a 0-0 tie last Wednesday.
TCNJ outshot the Ospreys 24-6 but Stockton goalkeeper
Nicole Pallante (Brick/Brick Twp.) made eight saves, including six in the second half, to post her seventh shutout of the season. Pallante extended her current shutout streak to 351 minutes since she last allowed a goal. As a team, Stockton has not allowed a score in the last 352:20.
Adrianna Boucher (Hamilton/Steinert) and
Marissa Bruno (Toms River/TR East) each attempted two shots to lead the Ospreys. TCNJ goalie Jessica Weeder earned a shutout with two saves. Four of Stockton's six shots came in the first half. The Lions fired 11 shots in the second half and six more in the two overtime periods. Five were of the tries in OT were wide and Pallante stopped one. Stockton was unable to get a shot off in either overtime.
Stockton will host William Paterson in an NJAC match at G. Larry James Stadium on Saturday at 3 pm.
