Stockton Rolls to 87-54 Win at Kean

Union, NJ – Stockton University (11-5, 6-3 NJAC) reached the halfway point of the 18-game NJAC slate with a resounding 87-54 victory at Kean University (2-12, 2-7) that was the second straight win for the Ospreys. Marcus Harmon (Whitesboro/Middle Twp.) led a group of five Stockton players in double figures with a game-high 18 points. Harmon completed a double-double with a career-high 11 rebounds.
 
Jaymere Hadden (Millville/Millville), Armin Cane (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) and Maurice Hart (Asbury Park/Asbury Park) scored 12 points apiece. Hart also dished a career-high five assists while Cane grabbed eight rebounds. Darius Jerkins (Somers Point/Mainland) chipped in with 10 points on 5-7 shooting. Stockton shot 11-24 (45.8%) from three-point range and produced a whopping 53-23 rebound advantage.
 
Harmon sank two early layups as the Ospreys jumped out to a 13-4 lead and never trailed in the game. After Kean pulled within one, Stockton took control with a 13-2 run that featured five points by Cane and ended with a 28-16 advantage. Hart later sank a three-pointer in the closing seconds to end the half with the Ospreys on top 37-23. Hadden and Hart led all players with eight points apiece.
 
Stockton continued to pull away in the second half by shooting 65.5 percent (19-29) from the field. The margin reached 21 at 54-33 on a three-pointer by Harmon with 15:14 on the clock and later grew to 28, 69-41, when Hadden scored on a layup at the 10:18 mark. The Ospreys led by at least 23 points the rest of the way.
 
All 14 Stockton players saw action in the game and 12 scored as the Ospreys rolled to the 87-54 victory. Jackson Merget (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) and Blake Rossell (Margate/St. Augustine) highlighted the play of the reserves with career highs of five and four points respectively.
 
Stockton will be back on its home court on Wednesday, hosting rival Rowan University at 8 p.m.
