Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (2-5-4, 0-2-2 NJAC) fired off 13 shots on the afternoon but could not break through for a score, and dropped a 3-0 final to Montclair State (9-2, 2-2 NJAC) on a wet Saturday afternoon.
Anthony Colofranson (Woodbury Heights/Gateway) squeezed off five shots for the Ospreys on the day.
The Red Hawks tallied the only goal of the first period when Lucas Terci scored his 15th goal of the season on a header. The 1-0 score held up through the rest of the half as Stockton was able to get off eight shots but just two on net.
The Ospreys had their best opportunity to get the equalizer when Colofranson had a shot saved at 56:23 with
Zach Burns (Washington Twp./Washington Twp.) and
Bobby Riordan (Tinton Falls/Monmouth) also having attempts turned away in the next four minutes.
At 65:10 Aaron Rose scored for Montclair to make it 2-0, before Jermaine Small closed out the scoring to set the final score at 3-0 in favor of the visitors.
Stockton goalkeeper
Michael Lescano (Union/St. Benedict's Prep) made seven saves in taking the loss, while his counterpart Mike Saalfrank turned away six Osprey attempts in earning his eighth win and the shutout.
Stockton will travel to Immaculata for a non-conference contest on Wednesday for their next game. Kickoff is set for 7 pm.Â
