Montclair, NJ – Stockton University (7-3-1, 2-1-1 NJAC) played its third consecutive conference game and fell to Montclair State (10-1-1, 4-0) by a 5-1 count. Freshman
Abbey Yannacone (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) was the goal scorer for the Ospreys.
Montclair State took an early lead just 8:27 into the game. Late in the first half, Yannacone scored her third goal of the season at 34:40 following a corner kick to knot the game at 1-1. The match remained deadlocked into the second half.
The Red Hawks went ahead for good on a penalty kick by Erin Sullivan 8:05 into the second stanza. The Ospreys yielded three goals in the last 30 minutes for the 5-1 final. The outcome ended a streak of 47 straight games in which Stockton had allowed three goals or less.
Stockton was outshot 13-10 and held a slight 6-5 edge on corner kicks.

Nicole Pallante (Brick/Brick Twp.) made five saves in the game.
Stockton will be on the road again on Tuesday for a non-conference game at Wilkes University at 7 p.m.
