Union, NJ – Stockton University (6-7, 0-3 NJAC) tried to come back from a two-goal deficit against unbeaten #17 Kean University (14-0, 3-0) but fell short in a 3-2 defeat.
Victoria Caiazzo (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) scored both goals for the Ospreys.
Kean scored early, with 7:54 gone, and late, with 1:54 left in the first half to put Stockton into a 2-0 hole at the break. Caiazzo got one back for the Ospreys 7:24 into the second stanza but the Cougars responded just under three minutes later to reestablish a two-goal margin at 3-1.
Only 1:58 after Kean's third marker, Caiazzo tipped in a pass from
Alexa Massa (Moorestown/Moorestown) on a penalty corner for her second goal of the game and third of the season to pull Stockton within one again at 3-2 with 22:45 still to play. The Ospreys managed just one shot and one penalty corner the rest of the way as they suffered the one-goal setback.

Emily Sorochynskyj (Boonton/Boonton) finished with nine saves. The Ospreys were opportunistic on offense, scoring on two of their five shots in the game.
Stockton will face another ranked opponent on Tuesday when the Ospreys visit #10 The College of New Jersey for an NJAC game at 7:30 p.m.
