Wayne, NJ – Stockton University (9-5-2, 3-3-1 NJAC) took an early lead but could not hold off William Paterson (10-4-1, 3-4) and fell to the Pioneers 3-1 in an NJAC road game.
Lindsey Thomas (Swedesboro/Kingsway) scored the lone goal for the Ospreys.
Thomas connected for her sixth goal of the season and
Abigayle Musto (Wall Twp./Wall) assisted on the tally to give Stockton a 1-0 edge 10:48 into the game. The lead lasted for nearly 25 minutes until the Pioneers tied the match with 9:30 left in the first half. Stockton nearly regained the lead in the closing seconds of the half but a shot by
Emily Frazee (Port Republic/Cedar Creek) hit the crossbar.
William Paterson went in front just 1:08 into the second half and added an insurance goal at 66:48 for the 3-1 count. The Ospreys outshot the Pioneers 11-6 and had a 9-2 advantage on corner kicks but could not convert those chances into goals.
Stockton's next game is Thursday, October 20 at NYU at 7 p.m.
