Swarthmore, PA – Stockton University (19-12) wrapped up its four-match stint at the Swarthmore Garnet Classic with a pair of setbacks in straight sets. The Ospreys fell to Swarthmore (20-3) 25-19, 25-19, 25-22 and then Scranton 25-21, 25-15, 25-21.
Sarah Walsh (Flemington/Hunterdon Central) toped Stockton with 25 kills on the day.
Walsh spiked 10 kills followed by
Lindsay Schuele (Sparta/Sparta) with six kills and 10 digs against Swarthmore.
Rebecka Zabilowicz (Belmar/Red Bank Regional) led all players with 17 digs and
Jessica Ciandella (Beachwood/Roselle Catholic) dished 19 assists for the Ospreys.
Walsh smashed a career-high 15 kills against Scranton in the second match of the day but none of her teammates tallied more than four. Zabilowicz tied for match-high honors with 11 digs.
Kennedy Hubbard (Moorestown/Moorestown) handed out 19 assists while Ciandella contributed 11 assists and nine digs.
Zabilowicz was chosen to the All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of play. The libero totaled 74 digs in four matches at the Garnet Classic.
Stockton will be on the road again on Tuesday for an NJAC match at Rutgers-Newark at 7 p.m.
