Wayne, NJ – Stockton University (14-6, 3-1 NJAC) played its first match in a week and dominated William Paterson (9-7, 1-4) in a 25-10, 25-16, 25-16 sweep. Freshman
Sarah Walsh (Flemington/Hunterdon Central) led the Ospreys with a career-high 14 kills, reaching double figures for the third straight match.
Lindsay Schuele (Sparta/Sparta) chipped in with 10 kills and seven digs while
Jessica Ciandella (Beachwood/Roselle Catholic) dished 25 assists.
Rebecka Zabilowicz (Belmar/Red Bank Regional) scooped 10 digs and served a match-high three aces. Fourteen Ospreys saw action in the match and eight registered kills.
The first set was close early, until Stockton pulled away with a 15-1 run that featured four kills by
Kara Glynn (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park). The Ospreys fell behind 4-2 in the second set before surging ahead by scoring 11 consecutive points. Zabilowicz keyed the surge with three aces and Stockton later took the stanza 25-16.
The third set was tied 3-3 when Stockton reeled off six straight points, highlighted by two kills apiece from Walsh and
Jenna Lara (Ridgefield/Ridgefield), for a 9-3 advantage. The Ospreys led by at least four the rest of the way and closed out the match 25-16.
Stockton will head to Franklin & Marshall for a tri-match on Saturday. The Ospreys will face F&M at noon and Cabrini at 2 p.m.
