Stockton Splits Two at F&M Tri-Match

Lancaster, PA – Stockton University (15-7) split its two matches during a tri-match at Franklin & Marshall on Saturday afternoon. The Ospreys dropped a three-setter to F&M (12-6) 25-18, 25-14, 25-14 before rebounding with a sweep of Cabrini (6-11) 25-20, 25-16, 25-20.  Lindsay Schuele (Sparta/Sparta) tallied a team-high 15 kills on their day to lead Stockton.
 
Stockton never got untracked in the first match of the day against Franklin & Marshall as the Ospreys had a team hitting percentage of just .127. Schuele and Stephanie Kovacs (Allentown, PA/Central Catholic) topped the team with six spikes each while Jessica Ciandella (Beachwood/Roselle Catholic) dished 12 assists. Jenna Lara (Ridgefield/Ridgefield) registered four kills on nine attacks for a .444 hitting percentage and added two blocks.
 
The nightcap saw the Ospreys rebound nicely, with Sarah Walsh (Flemington/Hunterdon Central) leading the way with 11 kills. Idi Uffen (Williamstown/Williamstown) and Schuele chipped in with nine kills each. Freshman Jocelyn Holobetz (Pottsville, PA/Nativity BVM) dished 19 assists and Ciandella handed out 16 helpers.
 
Uffen and Lara tallied three blocks each at the net. Lara also spiked six kills in 10 attacks (.600 hitting percentage) to finish with 10 kills and no errors in 19 attempts on the afternoon. Rebecka Zabilowicz (Belmar/Red Bank Regional) scooped a team-high nine digs in the win.
 
Stockton will return home to resume NJAC play when they face Rutgers-Camden on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
