BoxscoreDoylestown, PA – Stockton University (1-0) made a rousing debut for the 2016 season with an 18-3 victory over Delaware Valley (1-1). The result gave new Stockton head coach
Cristina Maurizi her first career win in her first game as a college head coach.
Lauren Ivancich (Beach Haven/Southern Regional) scored five goals and freshman
Sarah Frankovic (Long Valley/West Morris Central) poured in her first five career goals for the Ospreys. Freshman
Mary Schmid (Lumberton/Holy Cross) netted her first two college markers and also dished two assists. Eight Stockton players scored at least once in the game.
The Ospreys dominated the first half, outscoring the Aggies 11-1 and outshooting them 22-4.
Kim Raichelson (Brick/Brick Memorial) needed just 1:29 to begin the scoring binge. Ivancich sandwiched two goals around one by Frankovic for three counters in a span of 1:25 that made it 4-0 with just over 10 minutes gone.
Frankovic scored three more goals in the first half and Ivancich contributed two. Schmid and
Skyler Mahoney-Kendra (Tinton Falls/St. John Vianney) added one tally apiece for a commanding 11-0 lead before Delaware Valley got on the board with 1:18 left in the first half.
Raichelson and Ivancich each struck in the first five minutes of the second half to ignite a run of seven straight Stockton goals. Freshman
Carissa Genzo (Robbinsville/Robbinsville) potted her first college goal followed by markers from Frankovic, Schmid,
Sarah Brenner (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) and
Brianna Rolke (Berlin/Eastern). Delaware Valley scored twice in the last six minutes for the 18-3 final score.

Mary Stornes (Galloway/Absegami), the 2015 NJAC Goalkeeper of the Year, earned the win with four saves in the first 50 minutes. Freshman
Maura Twiggs (Ocean City/Ocean City) saw her first college action and made three saves in the last 10 minutes.
Stockton will be on the road again on Saturday for a morning tilt at Coast Guard that starts at 10 a.m.
