BoxscoreHoboken, NJ – After starting the season with seven consecutive wins, Stockton University (7-1) suffered its first setback as the winning streak was snapped 13-6 by Stevens (3-4).
Sarah Frankovic (Long Valley/West Morris Central) scored four goals for the Ospreys.
Lauren Ivancich (Beach Haven/Southern Regional) struck first to give Stockton an early 1-0 lead 2:50 into the game. The Ospreys stayed in front for nearly seven minutes before Stevens tied the contest, starting a run of five straight goals by the Ducks that put Stockton in a 5-1 hole.
Frankovic ended the run with the first of her four tallies just 26 seconds after Stevens' fifth goal but the Ducks added one more late in the half for a 6-2 count at the break.
Stockton surrendered two goals in the first three minutes of the second half as the deficit grew to 8-2.
Kim Raichelson (Brick/Brick Memorial) got one back for the Ospreys and Stevens answered 2:24 later to make the score 9-3.
Frankovic reeled off three straight goals in a span of 3:44 to pull Stockton within 9-6. Stevens reestablished momentum from there, holding the Ospreys off the board for the last 11 minutes while potting four goals to deal Stockton its first defeat of the season, 13-6.

Mary Stornes (Galloway/Absegami) finished with six saves and two ground balls.
Mary Schmid (Lumberton/Holy Cross) registered two of Stockton's three caused turnovers and added one ground ball. Erika Wilcox scored five goals for Stevens and Kathleen Kalbian netted three.
Stockton next will play a road game at Bard College on Saturday at 4 p.m.
