BoxscoreAnnandale-on-Hudson, NY – Stockton University (8-1) built a large lead in the first half and cruised to an 11-2 victory over Bard College (3-4). A pair of freshmen led the Ospreys with four points apiece.
Sarah Frankovic (Long Valley/West Morris Central) tallied three goals and an assist while
Carissa Genzo (Robbinsville/Robbinsville) chipped in with two goals and two assists.
Briana Rolke (Berlin/Eastern) contributed two goals and an assist.
Lauren Ivancich (Beach Haven/Southern Regional) filled the stat sheet with a goal, an assist, three draw controls, three caused turnovers and three ground balls. Stockton outshot Bard 24-4 in the game.
The teams exchanged goals in the first four minutes, with
Kim Raichelson (Brick/Brick Memorial) scoring for the Ospreys. Stockton broke the game open with seven goals in an 11-minute span for an 8-1 lead. Frankovic netted three markers and Rolke added two followed by Ivancich and
Mary Schmid (Lumberton/Holy Cross) with one goal apiece.
Genzo later scored her first of the game and freshman
Gaby Ojeda (Galloway/Absegami) potted her first career goal for a 10-1 advantage, which remained through halftime. The Ospreys were content to sit on the big lead in the second half. Genzo added her second counter with 11:48 to play and a late goal by Bard closed the scoring in the 11-2 Stockton victory.
Stockton will play its third straight road game on Wednesday, April 6 when the Ospreys visit Old Westbury for a 3 p.m. matchup.
