Stockton Dominates Rosemont 24-4

Rosemont, PA – Stockton University (9-3) scored the first nine goals and rolled to a 24-4 victory over Rosemont (2-10) in a non-conference road game. The Ospreys equaled their season high for goals led by James O'Donnell (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) and Vincent Manasia (Clark/Arthur L. Johnson) with four apiece. O'Donnell also dished four assists.
 
Thirteen different Ospreys scored goals in the game. Mike Caposella (Wayne/DePaul Catholic) tallied three goals and two assists while Tyler Van Benschoten (Saddle Brook/St. Joseph Regional), Colin Shea (Rumson/Rumson-Fair Haven) and Rory Alpaugh (Clinton/North Hunterdon) netted two markers apiece. Van Benschoten handed out two assists and Shea added one.
 
Caposella and Manasia scored 19 seconds apart for a 2-0 lead less than two minutes into the game. O'Donnell potted three of the next seven goals to spark Stockton to a 9-0 advantage before Rosemont got on the board late in the first quarter.
 
Six different Ospreys found the net in an eight-minute span overlapping the first and second periods as Stockton extended the lead to 15-1. After the Ravens scored their second goal, Manasia responded with a man-up tally and the Ospreys led 16-2 at the break.
 
Shea, who missed much of the season due to injury, scored his first two goals of the season during a 4-0 third quarter that made it 19-2. In the fourth stanza, Shane Moyer (North Wales/Archbishop Wood) and Jamar Hall (Logan Twp./Kingsway) each netted their second goal of the season while Alpaugh and Van Benschoten added their second counters of the game as Stockton coasted to the 24-4 win.
 
Stockton will host Maritime in a Skyline Conference game on Saturday at 1 p.m.
