Stockton Wins NJAC Opener 14-3

Mahwah, NJ – Stockton University (10-1, 1-0 NJAC) began conference play with a 14-3 victory over Ramapo (6-6, 1-1) that was the third straight win for the Ospreys. With its 10th triumph of the season, Stockton tied its win total from each of its first two intercollegiate seasons.
 
Sarah Frankovic (Long Valley/West Morris Central) led the Ospreys with four goals and two assists. Lauren Ivancich (Beach Haven/Southern Regional), Skyler Mahoney-Kendra (Tinton Falls/St. John Vianney) and Kim Raichelson (Brick/Brick Memorial) netted three goals apiece. Ivancich also corralled a game-high eight draw controls.
 
Stockton scored its first six goals in a five-minute span for a 6-0 lead with 10 minutes gone. Raichelson potted two counters while Ivancich, Mahoney-Kendra, Frankovic and Brianna Rolke (Berlin/Eastern) added one apiece. The Ospreys later outscored Ramapo 3-1 during another five-minute span with Ivancich scoring twice and Mahoney-Kendra once for a 9-1 lead at the half.
 
Stockton maintained an advantage of at least eight goals for the entire second half, led by Frankovic with three goals starting with one 43 seconds into the stanza. Raichelson and Mahoney-Kendra each scored once  in the half as the Ospreys cruised to the 14-3 victory.
 
Stockton goalkeeper Mary Stornes (Galloway/Absegami) collected the win with nine saves. Colleen Knight (Pennsauken/Camden Catholic) contributed team highs of three caused turnovers and five ground balls plus two draw controls to the win.
 
After four straight road games, the Ospreys will host Rowan University in an NJAC game at the Stockton Turf Field on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
