Galloway, NJ – After starting the season with three straight wins, Stockton University (3-1) suffered its first defeat as the Ospreys fell 4-0 to Muhlenberg (3-0) in the second of a three-game homestand. Stockton goalkeeper Emily Sorochynskyj (Boonton/Boonton) made six saves and Alexa Massa (Moorestown/Moorestown) added a defensive save.
 
Muhlenberg kept the Ospreys on the defensive throughout the first half, outshooting Stockton 9-2. The Ospreys fell behind 9:31 into the game as Emily Davis scored for the Mules. Stockton maneuvered downfield and generated two penalty corners and two shots with under nine minutes left in the half but could not convert.
 
Muhlenberg's' Taylor Smith scored with 4:48 remaining in the half and Stockton's deficit was 2-0 at the break. Rachel Strow scored twice in the first 11 minutes of the second half for a 4-0 count. The Ospreys registered five penalty corners and four shots the rest of the way but were held off the scoreboard for the first time this season.
 
Muhlenberg goalie Emma Rosenthal earned the win without facing a shot on goal while playing 58:28. Jordan Segrave came on for the last 11:32 and made three stops to complete the combined shutout for the Mules.
 
Stockton will conclude a three-game homestand on Tuesday when the Ospreys host DeSales at 7 p.m.
