Madison, NJ – Stockton University (3-1) dropped their first game of the season, losing a close 2-1 match to Moravian (2-1) at the Drew Fall Festival on Saturday afternoon.
Alexa Fama (Linwood/Mainland), playing in her first game of the season, scored the lone tally for Stockton.
The Ospreys fell behind 1-0 at the 22:55 mark when Moravian scored the first goal of the game. Val Margiottiello tapped in a pass for the score. The marker was the first allowed by the Ospreys after three straight shutouts to open the season. The lead held up through the first half with Stockton firing off five shots to three for Moravian.
Fama knotted the contest when she beat a defender inside the box and fired in her first goal of the season, unassisted at 46:55, to forge a 1-1 tie. Unfortunately for the Ospreys, they dropped the match on an own goal with just 4:45 remaining in the game.
