Hoboken, NJ – Stockton University (9-2) cruised to a pair of victories at the Stevens Ducks Classic, sweeping Arcadia 25-16, 25-19, 25-16 and Oswego State 25-6, 25-17, 25-17.
Stephanie Kovacs (Allentown, PA/Central Catholic) and
Idi Uffen (Williamstown/Williamstown) led the Ospreys with 22 kills apiece.
Kovacs and Uffen spiked 15 and 11 kills respectively in the win over Arcadia.
Rebecka Zabilowicz (Belmar/Red Bank Regional) scooped 28 digs and
Jessica Ciandella (Beachwood/Roselle Catholic) dished 27 assists.
Against Oswego State, Uffen tallied 11 more kills followed by
Lindsay Schuele (Sparta/Sparta) and
Allie Desmond (Ellicott City, MD/Marriotts Ridge) with nine apiece and Kovacs with seven. Ciandella handed out 25 assists and freshman
Faith Hoagland (Demarest/Northern Valley Demarest) contributed 11 helpers. Zabilowicz again paced the defense, finishing with 18 digs.
Stockton will continue play at the Stevens Ducks Classic tomorrow with matches against Oneonta State at 1 p.m. and Stevens at 3 p.m.
