Stockton Rallies for Third Straight Win, 3-2

Boxscore

Towson, MD – Stockton University (6-1) scored the last three goals of the game to erase a 2-0 deficit and edge Goucher College (3-2) by a 3-2 score. The win gave the Ospreys their second three-game winning streak of the season. Laura Olbrich (Pittsgrove/A.P. Schalick) led Stockton with two goals, including the game-winner.

Goucher jumped on the Ospreys early, scoring just 1:54 after the opening whistle and again with 9:49 gone to put Stockton in a quick 2-0 hole. Olbrich started the comeback with an unassisted goal at the 22:42 mark.

The Ospreys wasted little time tying the game as Sarah Gawrysiak (Haddon Twp./Haddon Twp.) scored with an assist by Leah Davies (Ocean City/Ocean City) 6:20 after Olbrich's goal. The match remained deadlocked into the second half.

With 6:49 gone in the second stanza, Olbrich netted the eventual game-winner, her team-leading seventh marker of the season, to give Stockton its first lead of the game at 3-2. Davies collected her second assist of the day on the play.

Goucher outshot Stockton 9-2 in the second half but goalkeeper Emily Sorochynskyj (Boonton/Boonton) made eight saves and the Ospreys protected the lead for their third straight win. Sorochynskyj finished with 10 saves to earn her sixth victory of the season.

Stockton will conclude a three-game road trip with a match at Alvernia on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
