Reading, PA – Stockton University (6-2) had its three-game winning streak snapped with a 3-2 setback to #19 Alvernia (7-0) in the last of three straight contests on the road for the Ospreys. Sophomore
Brooke Hunt (Medford/Cherokee) scored her first career goal and
Laura Olbrich (Pittsgrove/A.P. Schalick) found the net for the fourth straight game.
The Ospreys fell behind 1-0 on a goal by Alvernia at the 15:19 mark, before Olbrich tied it four minutes later. Her eighth goal of the season was a deflection off an
Alexa Massa (Moorestown/Moorestown) shot, and knotted the game at 1-1.
The Crusaders took a commanding 3-1 margin scoring twice in the next 11 minutes on two goals by Andrea Wysocki. Hunt scored an unassisted tally for her first career marker at 58:31 but the Ospreys could not muster the tying score and they fell 3-2.
Emily Sorochynskyj (Boonton/Boonton) made 12 saves in net for Stockton, the third time this season she has made double-digit saves, as Stockton was outshot 20-5 for the contest.
Stockton will be off until next September 27 when the Ospreys will face non-conference foe Widener at home. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
