Ewing, NJ – Stockton University (5-9-1, 1-5 NJAC) fended off #3 The College of New Jersey (12-0, 6-0) for over 50 minutes before the unbeaten Lions broke through for the goal that dealt the Ospreys a 1-0 setback. Before the defeat, Stockton had won its previous two games by a combined 5-1 score.
The high-powered TCNJ squad outshot Stockton 21-0 in the game, which was scoreless into the second half. Goalkeeper
Nicole Pallante (Brick/Brick Twp.) stopped six of the seven shots on goal that she faced.
Pallante made all six of her saves in the first half to keep the Lions off the board. The 0-0 tie was snapped 5:48 into the second half as Taylor Nolan headed in a free kick that was served from 40 yards out for the game's only score. The tally came on TCNJ's only shot on goal of the half.
Stockton returns home to host William Paterson in an NJAC game on Saturday at 3 pm.
