Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (7-9-1) used a stifling defense, as the Ospreys posted a 1-0 shutout win over Centenary University (9-3), in a non-conference match on Tuesday night. The backline of the Ospreys allowed just one shot on the evening and none on net.

Stockton scored the only goal of the night, on a
Mairead McKeary (Cranford/Cranford) tally at 15:11 of the first half. The senior took a pass then weaved her way around the Cyclone defense. Her fourth goal of the season found the lower right corner for the 1-0 margin.

From there it was all Osprey defense, as the visitors could not get off a shot until the last minute of the first stanza. The attempt sailed high and Stockton took the one goal advantage into the locker room at half. Stockton outshot the Cyclones 13-1 for the game.

The Ospreys squeezed off nine shots to none for Centenary in the final period, with six being on net, but could not break through. The final score was set at 1-0 after 90 minutes of play. It was the second straight whitewash for Stockton, who have allowed just two markers in their last five contests.

Goalkeeper
Nicole Pallante (Brick/Brick Twp.) posted her fourth shutout of the season without facing a shot. Taylor Pryslak started in net for the Cyclones, playing the first half, and took the loss allowing the one goal and making one save. Kaitlin Marold took over for the last 45 minutes and made six saves for Centenary.

Stockton will finish their three-game home stand on Thursday night. The Ospreys will take on NYU in their last non-conference match of the season. Game time is scheduled for 7 pm.
