New York, NY – Stockton University (1-0) opened the 2017-18 season in dominant fashion as the Ospreys routed Baruch College (0-1) 95-45. Stockton shot a torrid 13-24 (54.2%) from three-point range and all 15 Ospreys played at least five minutes in the victory.

Lea Mendolla (Nutley/Mount St. Dominic) led a trio of double-digit scorers with 15 points.
Najha Treadwell (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) and freshman
Natalie Miller (New Milford/New Milford) chipped in with 12 points apiece. Miller shot 4-6 from beyond the arc.

Stockton blitzed the Bearcats 28-9 in the first quarter, led by
Colleen Branagan (Matawan/Matawan) who went 3-4 from three-point range for nine points. After Baruch opened the scoring with a three-pointer, the Ospreys reeled off 22 unanswered points and never looked back. Branagan scored the final nine markers of the onslaught on three three-pointers.

Miller had the hot hand in the second quarter, draining all three of her tries from outside the arc for nine points. Stockton shot 8-13 (61.5%) from the floor in the period and led 49-26 at the break.

The Ospreys got the inside game going in the third quarter, led by Treadwell, who scored 10 points on 5-7 shooting as the margin ballooned to 41 at 76-35 after three. Stockton coasted in the fourth stanza as the bench players got into the act.
Nicole Byrne (Brick/Brick Memorial) sank two treys to tie her career high of six points as the Ospreys rolled to the 95-45 triumph.

Stockton returns home to host the Stockton Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. The Ospreys will take on Morrisville State (NY) on Saturday at 5 pm in the first game of the tourney.
