Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (6-3) held Virginia Wesleyan (3-7) to just seven points in the first quarter and cruised to a 73-46 non-conference victory on Monday night.
Najha Treadwell (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while teammate
Sasha Williams (Cherry Hill/CH West) also notched a double double with 15 points and a game-high 13 boards.
The Ospreys held the Marlins to 6.3 percent (1-16) shooting in the first frame while taking a 16-7 early lead. Stockton posted the first nine points of the contest before the visitors tallied a basket. Freshman point guard
Hailee Porricelli (Howell/Freehold Twp.) topped the Ospreys with five points in the period.
Stockton stretched the lead to 34-22 at the break as Williams tallied six points in the second frame to give the Ospreys the advantage. Treadwell,

Sammi Dabbundo (Philadelphia, PA/Bishop Eustace) each scored three points in the quarter.
The Ospreys put the game away during the third quarter, scoring 25 points to 14 for the Marlins. Twelve points by Treadwell moved the score to a commanding 59-36 lead for the home team. The final stanza became academic as Stockton won every quarter with a 14-10 last period to set the final score at 73-46.
Treadwell shot 10-12 at the free throw line in her big game, while Williams added four blocks, two steals and two assists.
Lea Mendolla (Nutley/Mount St. Dominic) filled the stat sheet with eight points, three assists, a block and six steals to top all players in the game. Porricelli dished a game-high four assists while
April Peterson (Lafayette-High Point) chipped in with eight points and five boards.
For Virginia Wesleyan, Jayla Harris was the only player in double figures with 15 points. Teammate Naeemah Morris grabbed 10 rebounds for the Marlins.
Stockton will take to the road for another non-conference matchup against Albright College on Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 5 pm.
