Clermont, FL – Stockton University (5-3) ran their winning streak to three straight games, sweeping both games today in Florida. The Ospreys took down RPI by a 6-3 score in eight innings, and then finished up with a 7-4 victory over Roger Williams. Freshman
Alexandra Cosenzo (East Hanover/Hanover Park) continued her torrid hitting with five hits in eight at bats and driving in five RBI.

The Ospreys gained a measure of revenge against the Engineers with the 6-3 win in the first game after dropping a 6-5 decision on Tuesday. Stockton held a 2-1 advantage after four frames, when
Holly Arentowicz (Roxbury/Roxbury) blasted a two-run homer, her first of the season. The game would remain that way until the bottom of the seventh inning when RPI was able to push the tying run across.

Stockton exploded for four markers in the top of the eighth to salt the game away.
Casey Schieda (Monroe Twp. /Monroe Twp.) was placed on second base and scored on a
Carli Shaw (Bordentown/Bordentown) single.
Danielle Lugo (Vineland/Vineland) was hit by a pitch, before Cosenzo smashed her second homer of the season, plating three more Osprey runs, to run the score to 6-2.

RPI could only score one run in their half of the inning to set the score at 6-3, as
Hannah Bibeault (Hopatcong/Hopatcong) closed the door in relief of starter
Victoria Torp (West Milford/West Milford). Torp tossed six strong innings allowing just one earned run and struck out four hitters.

Stockton started out strong against Roger Williams plating three runs in the first two innings. RBI by Lugo, Cosenzo and Shaw gave the Ospreys a 3-0 lead. The Hawks answered with a two spot in the top of the fourth to cut the margin to 3-2. Stockton responded by adding two markers of their own for a 5-2 advantage after four frames.

Chelsea Thomas (Barrington/Haddon Heights) singled, stole second and scored on a Shaw RBI hit. Shaw was plated by a Lugo safety for the two runs. The Hawks cut the margin back to one at 5-4 with two more runs in the fifth inning.

The Ospreys put the game away in their half of the sixth inning, with two big insurance runs. Cosenzo drove in Shaw and then eventually came around to score on a wild pitch for the 7-4 lead. Torp then nailed down the victory pitching the last three innings in relief of Bibeault evening her record at 2-2.

Stockton will finish up their Florida games tomorrow. The Ospreys will face The University of Rochester at 1pm, followed by the finale against Anderson University (IN) at 3:30 pm.
