Winter Haven, FL – Stockton University (6-6) concluded its spring break trip to Florida with a 13-8 setback to Keene State (6-6). Stephen Edelstein (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) went 2-4 with a triple and four RBI.
 
Tyler Hobbs (Brick/Brick Memorial) and Bryce DiPaola (Eastampton/Rancocas Valley) knocked two hits apiece. DiPaola also walked once and tallied a run scored and an RBI.
 
Hobbs singled and scored on an RBI double by Joe Pipher (Brick/Brick Memorial) in the first inning. The Ospreys then scored five runs in the bottom of the second for an early 6-0 lead. Edelstein tripled with the bases loaded for three RBI in the big inning.
 
Keene State scored two runs apiece in the third and fourth frames plus one in the sixth to get within 6-5. Edelstein momentarily halted the rally with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to boost the lead to two at 7-5.
 
The game turned in the top of the seventh as Keene State plated six runs on five hits, two walks and an error to pull ahead 11-7. DiPaola singled in a run in the bottom of the seventh to make it 11-8 but Keene State scored once each in the eighth and ninth innings to deal Stockton the 13-8 defeat.
 
After returning from the Sunshine State, Stockton will play a road game at Immaculata on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
