Stockton Wins Seventh Straight in 25-5 Rout

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (9-1, 2-0 Skyline) had 15 different players score goals as the Ospreys routed Mount St. Vincent (1-4, 0-1 Skyline) 25-5 on Saturday afternoon. Mike Caposella (Wayne/DePaul Catholic), Erik Anderson (Monroe Twp. /Monroe Twp.) and Tommy Gallo (Clinton/North Hunterdon) tallied five points each on the day to lead the Ospreys to their seventh straight win.
 
Gallo scored three times in the opening period as Stockton took as 6-1 lead, with Caposella adding a goal and two assists. The Dolphins hit the net for the first marker of the second period before Stockton answered with seven consecutive goals for a 13-2 lead at the break. Joey Tiernan (Voorhees/Eastern) and Colin Shea (Rumson/Rumson-Fair Haven) led the onslaught with two markers each in the frame.
 
Stockton blanked the Dolphins 7-0 in the third frame for a 20-2 advantage and the rout was on. A 5-3 final frame set the final score at 25-5 in favor of the Ospreys. Eamon Morley (Glen Rock/Glen Rock) dished his first two career assists, with fellow freshman Chris Vargo (Kinnelon/Kinnelon) picking up his first career points on a goal and two helpers, during the second half.
 
Sophomore Justin Ruiz (Holmdel/Holmdel) started in net for Stockton, playing the first half. He allowed just two scores in 30 minutes to pick up the win. Eric Leonard (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) made five saves without allowing a goal in the third period, before giving way to Steven Pille (Oakland/St. Joseph), who finished up between the pipes in the fourth quarter.
 
The Ospreys will face Skyline foe Montclair State on Wednesday for their next tilt. Game time is set for 7 pm in Galloway.
