Camden, NJ – Stockton University (12-15, 4-7 NJAC) started its three days of conference games with a 9-1 setback to Rutgers-Camden (11-18, 2-9) on the road. Two Ospreys accounted for half of the team's total of eight hits.
Garrhet Reedy (Tinton Falls/Monmouth) went 2-4 with an RBI and
Antonio Morello (Washington Twp./Washington Twp.) was 2-4 with a double.
Joe Pipher (Brick/Brick Memorial) reached base three times on a single and two hit by pitches. Pipher also scored Stockton's only run.
Rutgers-Camden jumped ahead with two runs in the bottom of the first and added one apiece in the third and fifth frames for a 4-0 count. Stockton left two runners on base in each of the first two innings and stranded one in both the fourth and fifth stanzas.
The Ospreys broke through for a run in the sixth that made it 4-1. Piper led off with a single and moved to third on a one-out double by Morello. Reedy followed with an RBI groundout that scored Pipher. Rutgers-Camden put the game away with three runs, two unearned, in the seventh inning and two more in the eighth for the 9-1 final.

Ray Hughes (Forked River/Lacey Twp.) fanned four in five innings pitched but allowed four runs (one unearned) on five hits and took the loss.
Stockton and Rutgers-Camden will square off on the Ospreys' home field tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. to conclude the home-and-home series.
