Scranton, PA – Stockton University (9-5) rallied from a four-goal deficit to tie the game but was edged 11-10 by Scranton (10-5) on a goal with just under seven minutes remaining. The match was the regular season finale for the Ospreys, who will be in the NJAC tournament next week.
Mary Schmid (Lumberton/Holy Cross) led Stockton with four goals and two assists.
Alexa Rubino (Voorhees/Eastern) scored three goals followed by
Kim Raichelson (Brick/Brick Memorial) with two.
Scranton scored four goals in the first 11:02 before Raichelson got Stockton on the board. The Royals sandwiched two more tallies around one by Raichelson and the deficit was 6-2 with 10 minutes left in the first half.
The Ospreys outscored Scranton 3-2 down the stretch to shave one goal off the margin. Schmid, Rubino and
Kristen Russo (Wayne/Wayne Hills) were the scorers and Stockton trailed 8-5 at the break.
Rubino and Schmid struck 25 seconds apart early in the second half to get the Ospreys within one at 8-7. The Royals quickly extended to 9-7 but Schmid and Rubino then scored 48 seconds apart to pull Stockton into a 9-9 tie. Only 38 seconds later, Scranton went back on top 10-9, ending a wild stretch in which the teams combined for six goals in 3:18.
After 13 scoreless minutes, Schmid tied the game again at 10-10. Erin Ahern put Scranton up one again at 11-10 with the eventual game-winner at the 6:55 mark. The Ospreys were hampered by four turnovers and did not register a shot the rest of the way, suffering the one-goal setback.

Maura Twiggs (Ocean City/Ocean City) finished with nine saves while
Melanie Patterson (Jackson/Jackson Liberty) registered three draw controls, three ground balls and one caused turnover.
Stockton will be the No. 4 seed for the NJAC tournament and play a semifinal game at The College of New Jersey, the No.1 ranked team in the nation, on Wednesday.
