Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (2-3) wrapped up a weekend of back-to-back home games with a 1-0 setback to Shenandoah (3-2) at G. Larry James Stadium. The match was the second of a three-game homestand for the Ospreys, who split the weekend pair.
 
Stockton pressed the attack early in the contest and had the ball in the box several times but could not convert. The Ospreys nearly got on the board first but a shot from the right wing by Alexa Chiaro (Cherry Hill/CH West) glanced off the post at the 28:57 mark.
 
Just over 11 minutes later, the Hornets took advantage of a defensive miscue to score the only goal of the game. A Stockton clearing attempt went awry and landed right on the foot of Shenandoah's Emily Yergin, who volleyed the ball into the open net from 25 yards out.
 
Stockton's opportunities were more limited in the second half as Shenandoah protected its slim lead and downed the Ospreys 1-0. Shots were 12-10 in favor of the Hornets overall. Stockton goalkeeper Nicole Pallante (Brick/Brick Twp.) made four saves while her counterpart Charlotte Evans notched the shutout with two stops.
 
Stockton will wrap up its three-game homestand on Thursday, September 14 when the Ospreys host St. Joseph's-Long Island at 7 pm.
