Stockton Edged 1-0 by Kean in Overtime

Union, NJ – Stockton University (3-4, 0-1 NJAC) began NJAC play on the road at Kean University (5-2, 1-0), where the Ospreys fell 1-0 on a game-ender early in overtime. Ospreys' goalkeeper Nicole Pallante (Brick/Brick Twp.) made a career-high nine saves, but to no avail as her team was blanked for the fourth time this season.

Stockton was outshot 24-10 in the game, with Mairead McKeary (Cranford/Cranford) and Dasey DiElmo (Little Egg Harbor/Pinelands) accounting for two shots apiece. The Ospreys managed five shots on goal, all of which were stopped by Kean keeper Casey McDonnell for the shutout.

Stockton were outdone 13-6 on shots in the first half and survived at 0-0 thanks to four saves by Pallante and one Cougar shot that hit the post. Shots were 9-3 Kean in the second half but Pallante made five more stops to help force overtime.

Stockton was thwarted on a shot on goal by Lindsey Thomas (Swedesboro/Kingsway) and a corner kick early in OT. Kean earned a corner a minute after Stockton's try and Kesi Alejandro knocked home the game-winner 4:52 into the extra period for the 1-0 final.

Stockton returns home to host Eastern University in a non-conference game on Wednesday at 7 pm.
