Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (2-0) battled the elements and Immaculata University (0-2) in the Ospreys' home opener and came away with a 4-2 victory on Saturday afternoon. Freshman

Justin Ruiz (Wayne/Wayne Hills) tallied their first career goals and added an assist each in a steady rain in Galloway.
Stockton scored twice in the first half, starting with Ruiz, who corralled a loose pass in the 22nd minute and broke in alone. He calmly beat the goalkeeper with a shot into the left side for a 1-0 lead. Under 11 minutes later, Montesinos took a pass from Ruiz inside the box and blasted a shot into the top shelf for a 2-0 margin and his first career tally.
The Mighty Macs rallied at the start of the second stanza to knot the game. At 53:05, a header by Alex Noel on a corner kick cut the lead in half at 2-1. Eight minutes later, Nick Boule, who assisted on Noel's goal, scored unassisted to tie the game at 2-2.
The Ospreys were able to rebound and put the game away against their opponents.
Bobby Riordan (Tinton Falls/Monmouth) scored in the 72nd minute on a nifty chip shot to regain the lead at 3-2.
Christian Bik (Vineland/St. Augustine Prep) gave Stockton an insurance goal three minutes later for the 4-2 margin. Montesinos chipped the ball to
Max Bond (Cherry Hill/Cherry Hill West), who guided the ball off his chest to Bik, who then fired a shot from the middle of the box for the final goal of the day. Bond's assist was his first career point at Stockton.
Goalkeeper
Kellen Groover (Florence/Life Center Academy) picked up his second win in as many days, making one save for Stockton. Mikey Kalpokas took the loss in net for Immaculata kicking out three shots.
Stockton will play against Marywood in a non-conference road tilt for their next contest. The game is set for Wednesday at 7 pm in Scranton, PA.
