Wayne, NJ – Stockton University (6-2, 1-0 NJAC) scored twice in the first 11 minutes and went on to a 3-1 victory over William Paterson (2-6, 0-1) in the conference opener for both teams. The win was the fifth straight for the Ospreys, equaling the longest winning streak in the program's 15-year history.
Freshman
Britney Stein (Ocean City/Ocean City) gave Stockton the early lead with her third goal of the season just 8:44 into the game. Only 2:06 later,
Alexa Massa (Moorestown/Moorestown) made it 2-0 Ospreys with her team-leading seventh marker of the season. The goal came on a penalty corner. Stockton controlled the first half overall, firing 10 shots to just four for the Pioneers.
The Ospreys protected the lead throughout the second half and held WPU to just three shots.
Leah Davies (Ocean City/Ocean City) potted her first goal of the season with just over 15 minutes remaining to boost the advantage to 3-0. Kristin Freas-Papa spoiled the shutout with 8:33 to play and Stockton closed out its fifth straight win, 3-1.

Emily Gilligan (West Deptford/West Deptford) earned the victory with five saves. Gilligan's counterpart Mallory Rickerhauser also finished with five stops. The Ospreys nearly doubled the Pioneers in shots (13-7) and corners (11-6) in the game.
Stockton will head west to Pennsylvania and face a quick turnaround before playing at Marywood tomorrow at 3 pm.
