Glassboro, NJ – After getting off to the longest unbeaten streak to start a season in school history, nine games, Stockton University (8-1-1, 2-1 NJAC) tumbled from the unbeaten ranks with a 3-0 setback to #20 Rowan University (9-2, 3-0). Stockton goalkeeper
Kellen Groover (Florence/Life Center) made six saves, one off his career high, but the Ospreys suffered their first defeat of the season.
Stockton fell behind on a score by Matt Hendrickson just 6:30 into the game and could not get anything going against the Profs. Rowan scored again with 10:14 left in the first half for a 2-0 count that lasted into the second stanza. Another marker with 26:47 remaining in the match closed the scoring at 3-0.
Eucario Solano (Galloway/Absegami) registered two of Stockton's five shots in the game.
Christian Bik (Vineland/St. Augustine) recorded the only attempt that went on goal but Eric Checkur made the save to preserve the shutout. Groover finished with three saves in each half for the Ospreys.
Stockton will go on the road again on Saturday for a conference game at defending NJAC champion Montclair State at 7 pm.
