Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (3-6-1, 0-3 NJAC) fought gamely but came up on the short end of a 2-0 final to Rowan University (7-1-1, 3-0 NJAC) on Wednesday night. The loss extended Stockton's scoreless streak to four straight games.
Nicole Pallante (Brick/Brick Twp.) made seven saves, including stopping a penalty kick in net for the Ospreys.

The contest was scoreless though the first 39:04, when the Ospreys were called for a red card in the box, allowing Rowan to try a penalty kick. Pallante was up to the task but the Profs broke the tie shortly after. At 39:56, Dominque Marrone scored her first career goal from Michelle Carpino for a 1-0 advantage that lasted through the rest of the half.

Stockton had to play a player short the rest of the game due to the card, and fought to get the equalizer to no avail. Rowan peppered the Osprey defense for 13 shots in the second stanza and nailed the insurance goal in the 79th minute. Marrone tallied again, on a tap in off a cross from Shannon Reardigan for the 2-0 margin an set the final score.

Dasey DiElmo (Little Egg Harbor/Pinelands) and
Juliann Gee (Cinnaminson/Holy Cross) were the only Ospreys to fire off shots. DiElmo had the only attempt on net for the night.

Pallante made four of her seven stops in the second half, but suffered the loss. Shelby Money posted her fifth shutout of the season for the Profs.

Stockton will play the second of three straight home games, when they will face Montclair State on Saturday. Game time is set for 4 pm.
