Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (6-3, 3-2 NJAC) dominated all nine matches for a 9-0 victory over Rutgers-Newark (1-9, 0-4). The Ospreys did not drop a single game in six of the matches.
Maria Ibarra (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT),
Emily Steinberg (Toms River/TR North) and
Kristen McCormick (Galloway/Absegami) led the way with wins in singles and doubles.
Ibarra and Steinberg teamed for an 8-3 win in the closest of the three doubles contests.
Theresa Fernbacher (West Milford/West Milford) and
Taylor Searles (Turnersville/Washington Twp.) cruised 8-1. McCormick and
Renee Wornowicz (Old Bridge/Old Bridge) blanked their opponents 8-0.
Steinberg, McCormick,
Brooke Samuels (Salem/Salem),
Brenna Samuels (Salem/Salem) and
Katelyn Emick (West Deptford/West Deptford) all rolled to 6-0, 6-0 victories in singles. Ibarra pulled away after a close first set to post a 7-5, 6-0 win.
Stockton will be home again on Saturday when the Ospreys host Ramapo in an NJAC match at noon.
