Stockton Wins Third Straight, 4-0 Over NJCU

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (12-3-3, 5-2-1 NJAC) scored all four goals in the first half, on the way to a dominant 4-0 win over New Jersey City University (4-9, 0-7 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon. Salena LeDonne (Parsippany/Parsippany) tallied two goals, while freshman Julianna Kaiser (Tabernacle/Seneca) scored her first career marker.

The ospreys took control of the contest at 11:38 when Susan Porambo (Millersville, PA/Penn Manor) took a long feed from Kara Staudenmayer (Cinnaminson/Paul VI). She broke free for a one on one against Sheyla Salazar and beat the NJCU goalie for a 1-0 lead. It was the freshman's sixth marker of the season.

LeDonne scored the next two tallies 1:29 apart for a three-goal advantage. At 23:09, she took a feed from Emily Frazee (Port Republic/Cedar Creek) for a breakaway goal for her ninth of the year. The sophomore took the ball at midfield after the restart and beat two defenders on her way to goal number 10 to make it 3-0.

Kaiser ended the scoring for the day in the 37th minute when she potted a rebound for her first career goal. Madison Dorney (Washington twp. /Washington Twp.) blasted a shot that was kicked away, but right to Kaiser who netted the marker and the 4-0 lead. The non-descript second half saw all 26 available Osprey players see action and set the final score at 4-0.

Goalkeeper Nicole Pallante (Brick/Brick Twp.) made two saves, one in each half, in posting her NJAC leading 10th shutout of the season. Her clean sheet ties her for fourth in single season at Stockton and gives her 35 shutouts over her sterling career, tying her for second all-time.

Salazar made 13 saves in net for the Gothic Knights, as Stockton held a 28-3 margin in shots, with 17 on net.

Stockton will have a quick turnaround, as the Ospreys will face Washington College (MD) tomorrow afternoon. Game time is scheduled for 2pm.
