Camden, NJ – Stockton University (13-3-4, 6-2-1) battled Rutgers-Camden (8-7-2, 5-2-2 NJAC) into overtime before prevailing 2-1 on Wednesday night.
Salena LeDonne (Parsippany/Parsippany) scored the game winning tally with 1:11 left in overtime minute for the win.

The teams fought a defensive battle through the first 45 minutes of play with Stockton holding a slim 3-2 margin in shots.
Kiersten Reszkowski (Freehold/Freehold Twp.) squeezed off the first shot of the game, but the attempt was kicked away at 6:30. LeDonne had a shot cleared by a Raptors defender in the 17th minute to keep the game scoreless.

The home team put a pair attempts on net in the 36th minute, as Meghan Wachira fired a blast that was kicked out by goalkeeper
Nicole Pallante (Brick/Brick Twp.). The rebound attempt sailed high and the rest of the half was played in midfield, as the squads went to the break in a 0-0 deadlock.

The Scarlet Raptors wasted no time in breaking the tie as Taylor O'Rourke scored on a sharp angle, just 1:26 into the second half for the 1-0 lead. Stockton started to gain momentum and eventually knotted the contest at 56:34.

Alexa Simonetti (Wayne/Wayne Valley) converted a corner kick for her seventh tally of the season, from
Michelle Sander (Ewing/Notre Dame) to knot the game once again at 1-1. Both quads locked down defensively after the score and the match went to the extra period tied at one goal apiece.

LeDonne fired a shot 1:24 into the overtime but it was easily saved by Raptors net minder Natalie Eberhardt. Two minutes later, Wachira had an attempt stopped, then teammate Sophia Spanado had a shot kicked away by Pallante.

Dasey DiElmo (Little Egg Harbor/Pinelands) gathered the ball near the sideline in Raptors territory. Her long cross field pass found LeDonne inside the box on the left side. The sophomore fired a shot into the far-right corner for her 11th goal of the season and the victory.

Pallante made four saves in net for the victory, while Eberhardt kicked out five Osprey attempts.

With the victory, Stockton locks up the number three seed in the NJAC Tournament starting Saturday and will have a home match against Kean University for the first-round matchup. The time is yet to be determined.
