Montclair, NJ – Stockton University (7-4, 1-2 NJAC) dropped a hard fought game late to #10 ranked Montclair State (12-1, 2-0 NJAC) by a 3-2 score on Saturday afternoon. The Red Hawks scored the game winner with 3:05 remaining in the contest to secure the victory and are ranked nationally by the NFHCA.

Stockton opened the scoring at 5:44 when sophomore
Sarah Fisher (Monroeville/Woodstown) scored her second goal of the season for a 1-0 lead.
Casey Cordonna (Barrington/Haddon Heights) fed a penalty corner to
Victoria Caiazzo (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) in the circle. Her pass found Fisher and she tallied for the one-goal margin.

The Red Hawks knotted the contest at 15:06 as Amber Haslett scored the first of her three goals on the day. Kelly Watson assisted to make it 1-1. That was the last score until the break. The Ospreys defense stiffened as they were outshot 10-3, with the home team holding an 8-4 margin in penalty corners.

Cordonna gave Stockton another brief one-goal lead at 48:10 when she potted her third goal of the season. Caiazzo dished to Cordonna for her second assist of the game to give the Ospreys the 2-1 margin. The lead was last until the 63rd minute when Haslett evened the contest.

Four minutes later, Haslett tallied the eventual game winner and the Red Hawks made it stand up for the 3-2 victory. The Ospreys withstood an offensive onslaught by Montclair State, as they held an 18-6 shot advantage and 15-3 on penalty corners.

Emily Gilligan (West Deptford/West Deptford) made six saves in net for the Ospreys.

In addition to Haslett's big game, Kelly Watson assisted on two of the three goals. Net minder Nicole Andriani kicked out two shots in gaining the win for the Red Hawks.
