Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (19-4) upped its winning streak to 12 matches with a pair of victories at The Sports Center. The Ospreys, who are 8-0 at home this season, swept Widener (12-12) 25-16, 26-24, 25-17 and NYU (13-8) 28-26, 25-22, 25-17.
Allie Desmond (Ellicott City, MD/Marriotts Ridge) and
Julie Kohlhoff (West Islip, NY/West Islip) spiked 10 kills apiece against Widener. Kohlhoff made no errors in 14 attacks for a torrid .714 hitting percentage.
Haley Green (Springville, UT/Maple Mountain) chipped in with seven kills as well.
Emily Sullivan (Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raritan) and
Fiona Marziello (Haddonfield/Paul VI) dished 19 and 14 assists respectively.
Natalie Miller (Pittsburgh, PA/Thomas Jefferson) scooped a match-high 16 digs and
Christie Louer (Clifton/Clifton) contributed 11 digs.
Desmond and Sullivan starred in the win over NYU. Desmond pounded 20 kills, one off her career high, and added three blocks. Sullivan totaled 29 assists, eight digs, five kills, two blocks and an ace. Miller registered 20 digs while Louer finished with 10 digs and seven kills for the Ospreys.
Stockton rallied from a 20-15 deficit to win the first set 28-26 and went on to the sweep. Desmond led the comeback with four kills while Sullivan and Louer added two apiece as the Ospreys outscored NYU 13-6 down the stretch.
Stockton will be home again on Tuesday when the Ospreys host Montclair State in an NJAC match at 7 pm.
