Doylestown, PA – Stockton University (0-1) fell in the season opener to Delaware Valley (1-0) 79-47 on Saturday afternoon.
Kirsten Flournoy (Sewell /Timber Creek) led the Ospreys by tying her career-high with 18 points on the day. Flournoy played her first game in an Osprey uniform after transferring from Rutgers-Camden this year.
The young, inexperienced Ospreys got off to a rough start, trailing 27-10 after one period and never were able to recover. The Rams stretched the margin to 63-26 after three quarters of play.
Stockton, which has just one senior and only three players on the roster that have ever started a game in collegiate basketball, outscored the home team 21-16 in the fourth period to set the final score at 79-47.

April Peterson (Lafayette/High Point) tallied 11 points and tied freshman
Colleen Brady (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) for team-high honors with eight rebounds. Brady also topped the Ospreys with four steals.
Emily Donzanti (Toms River/TR South) dished a team-high three assists to go with four points, three rebounds and three steals.
Natalie Miller (New Milford/New Milford) scored nine points on 3-5 shooting from behind the arc. Peterson and Flournoy were joined in the starting lineup by a trio of rookies in Donzanti,
Molly Collins (Lacey Twp./Donovan Catholic) and
Kiley Gelston (Washington Twp./Washington Twp.).
Ashley Smink and Danielle Skedzielewski led Delaware Valley with 25 and 21 points respectively.
Stockton will play Lehman College for their next game on Friday November 16 in the Stockton Tip-Off Classic at home. Game time is set for 6 pm.
