Auburndale, FL – Stockton University (1-4) played its fifth game in four days in Florida and was blanked 9-0 by Suffolk University (3-2). The depleted Osprey lineup was limited to just four hits in the game.
Garrhet Reedy (Tinton Falls/Monmouth) reached base twice, with a single and a walk.
Suffolk scored once in the second inning and twice in the third to put Stockton in a 3-0 hole. The Rams added one marker in the sixth inning and then tacked on five in the seventh to put the game out of reach at 9-0.
Reedy led off the second inning with a single and started the fifth with a walk, but both potential scoring chances were snuffed by double plays. In addition to Reedy,
Garrett DeMarrais (Oradell/River Dell),
Brandan Gomez (Jersey City/Ferris) and
Nick D'Arcy (Toms River/TR East) each singled once in the contest.
Stockton will have a much-needed day off tomorrow after this busy five-day stretch. The Ospreys will return to the field on Thursday for a doubleheader against Lesley University starting at 2:45 pm.
