Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (1-2) exploded for nine goals in the first 26 minutes and went on to its first victory of the season, 15-9 over Bryn Athyn (1-3). The Ospreys controlled the play throughout, outshooting the Lions 39-24 and winning 20 of 28 faceoffs.
Zack Aho (Shamong/Seneca) led Stockton with three goals and two assists for five points while
Mike Caposella (Wayne/DePaul Catholic) also scored three goals.
Tommy Gallo (Clinton/North Hunterdon) tallied two goals and two assists for four points.
Caposella found the net just 22 seconds after the opening faceoff, however Bryn Athyn answered with two goals 57 seconds apart for its only lead of the game at 2-1. Caposella,
Erik Anderson (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) and
Eric Ellis (Voorhees/Eastern) struck for three straight tallies to put the Ospreys ahead 4-2 after one.
Aho later made it four consecutive goals for a 5-2 advantage 2:24 into the second period. After Bryn Athyn got one back, Stockton outscored the Lions 4-1 over a span of 5:07 to build a 9-4 lead.
Luc Swedlund (Randolph/Randolph) netted two markers, with Caposella and Gallo adding one apiece. The Ospreys seemed in command until Bryn Athyn scored twice in the last minute of the half to get within 9-6.
Stockton regained the momentum with a three-goal burst in the third quarter, two by Aho sandwiched around one by Gallo, for an insurmountable 12-6 lead. Bryn Athyn closed to 12-8 before the Ospreys clinched the outcome with another three straight counters, one each by
Brandon Nunez (Freehold/Freehold Twp.), Ellis, and
Joey Tiernan (Voorhees/Eastern). A late tally by the Lions made the final score 15-9.

Colin Wharton (Cinnaminson/Camden Catholic) paced the defense with two caused turnovers and a ground ball.
Anthony Brigati (Wayne/Wayne Hills) won 18 of 23 faceoffs for the Ospreys.
Nolan Frame scored a game-high four goals for Bryn Athyn, followed by Jon Carr with two goals and one assist. Cameron Leech potted one marker and dished six assists for seven points on the night. Lions' goalie Brad DePasquale finished with nine saves.
Stockton's six-game homestand continues on Saturday when the Ospreys host McDaniel at 2 pm.
