Ewing, NJ – Stockton University (20-12, 7-5 NJAC) was swept in an NJAC doubleheader for the first time this season, as the Ospreys fell 8-0 (5 innings) and 3-1 (6 innings) to The College of New Jersey (21-5, 10-1 NJAC) on Tuesday afternoon.
Meg Murzello (Maple Shade/Holy Cross) scored the only run of the day for Stockton.

In game one, it was all Alana Namit for the Lions as she held the Ospreys without a hit. The freshman registered her third no-hitter of the season, walking two and striking out three hitters in the 8-0 victory. The game ended on the eight-run mercy rule after five innings.

Hannah Bibeault (Hopatcong/Hopatcong) started for the Ospreys, throwing the first three innings, allowing five runs, just two earned. The loss snapped an eight-game winning streak for Bibeault. Freshman
Samantha Huetter (Roseland/West Essex) finished up in the circle, tossing the final 1.2 innings.

Game two saw Stockton break through with a run in the top of the first inning. Murzello singled to lead off the contest. Murzello advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by
Alexa Massa (Moorestown/Moorestown)Â then scored when
Alexandra Cosenzo (East Hanover/Hanover Park) singled her in for her 37th RBI of the season and the 1-0 lead.

That was as close as Stockton would come, as the Lions plated two runs on four hits in the third inning, all with two outs, for a 2-1 margin. Jess McGuire added an insurance run the next inning for the 3-1 final. The game was ended after six innings.

Victoria Torp (West Milford/West Milford) took the loss for Stockton. The senior tossed a complete game, allowing three runs and scattering eight hits.
The Ospreys will travel to Farmingdale, NY for their next contest, as they will face Farmingdale State for a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday. First pitch is set for 3 pm.
