Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (10-4) won both matches on day one of the Ospreys Classic in Galloway. The Ospreys downed FDU-Florham 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-11) in the opening match. Stockton then came from behind to defeat previously unbeaten Springfield (MA) College in a five set thriller, 3-2 (18-25, 16-25, 25-23, 22-13, 15-7).

Allie Desmond (Ellicott City, MD/Marriotts Ridge) and
Christie Louer (Clifton/Clifton) led the way offensively with 28 and 23 kills respectively on the day. Stockton's defense was on display in the first match as
Natalie Miller (Pittsburgh, PA/Thomas Jefferson) had 15 digs while
Sophia Marziello (Haddonfield/Paul VI) scooped 12 digs and Louer added nine to go with a team-high three aces.

Sophomore
Emily Sullivan had a tremendous two games, totaling 72 assists, 22 digs and all six of her aces against Springfield. Miller added to her total with 16 digs and six assists. Louer topped the offense with 13 kills, with
Jocelyn Holobetz (Pottsville, PA/Nativity BVM) spiked 12 shots. Desmond and
Franceska Gustave (Edgewater/Leonia) had 11 kills respectively.

Stockton will have a quick turnaround as they face Cabrini tomorrow at 11 am. The Ospreys will take on Catholic University at 3 pm to finish the Ospreys Classic.
