Union, NJ – Stockton University (7-2, 1-0 NJAC) scored a goal in the first half then withstood unrelenting pressure in the second half to down Kean University 1-0 (4-7, 0-1 NJAC) in the NJAC opener for both teams.
Madison Dancisin (Little Egg Harbor/Pinelands) tallied the only goal of the game for Stockton.
Dancisin potted her second goal of the season 19:54 into the contest for the eventual game-winner. Her score came off a deflected shot by
Issy Gilhooley (Ocean City/Ocean City). The rebound found its way to Dancisin and the sophomore made no mistake on the marker. The first half was even as each team squeezed off six shots.
The Cougars ratcheted up the offensive pressure in the second half with advantages of 10-2 on penalty corners and 10-4 on shots, but the Osprey defense held fast and came away with the 1-0 victory.

Emily Gilligan (West Deptford/West Deptford) made six saves in posting her third shutout of the season. Five of the stops came while protecting the 1-0 lead, including four in the second half. The Ospreys were victorious for the fourth time in their last five matches.
Kean goalie Megan Houser finished with four saves in the contest. Her teammate Jenna Patrone led all players with five shots on the day as the Cougars outshot Stockton 16-10 overall.
Stockton next match will be a home contest as the Ospreys will face Rowan University on Wednesday night. Game time is set for 7 pm.
