Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Stockton Falls to Ramapo 2-0

Mahwah, NJ – Stockton University (5-5-1, 2-2 NJAC) dropped a fast-paced NJAC game to Ramapo (9-1, 3-1 NJAC) by a 2-0 score on Saturday afternoon. The Ospreys were able to get seven shots on net but could not pick up a tally on the day. Villy Fortulus (Winslow Twp./Winslow Twp.) led the team with four shots on the afternoon, with three on net.
 
The Roadrunners held an 11-6 advantage in shots during the first half but came away empty, as did Stockton. The Ospreys put five of their six attempts on goal but were turned away each time.
 
The home team broke the scoreless contest at 50:18 when Nick Petrozziello scored for a 1-0 lead. Just under seven minutes later, Chris Nash tallied for a two-goal margin. The Ramapo defense stiffened, allowing just three shots by Stockton during the second half. The Ospreys sent two more shots on net in the period, but they were kicked out and the final score was set at 2-0.
 
Michael Lescano (Union/St. Benedict's Prep) made his second straight start and took the loss in net for Stockton. He faced 20 shots and made eight saves in the match. Joshua Schaffer picked up the win for Ramapo with a seven save effort in posting the shutout.
 
Stockton next match will be a non-conference affair as the Ospreys travel to Collegeville, PA to face Ursinus. The contest is scheduled for Wednesday night at 7:30 pm.
