Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (3-0) scored once in each half and played stout defense to post its first shutout of the season, 2-0 over Elizabethtown (2-1).
Victoria Caiazzo (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) scored a goal for the third straight game and added a defensive save as well.
Stockton had the better of the play early and cashed in with 23:35 gone as
Britney Stein (Ocean City/Ocean City) poked in a loose ball at the right post for her first goal of the season. The shots were even at five apiece and the Ospreys held a 5-2 advantage in corners during the first half.
Elizabethtown came on strong at the start of the second half and drew an early penalty stroke. Backup goalkeeper
Niya Calloway (Matawan/Matawan) came off the bench to deny Maggie Fees' shot at the left post and preserve the 1-0 lead.
Less than two minutes later, Caiazzo shoveled a shot against the grain that found its way through a crowd and into the left side of the cage to boost the Stockton lead to 2-0. Elizabethtown registered 13 shots and 11 penalty corners in the half, but the Ospreys held strong in the defensive end and recorded their first shutout of the season and third straight win, 2-0.

Emily Gilligan (West Deptford/West Deptford) made six saves. Calloway chipped in with one stop on the penalty stroke while Caiazzo and
Arielis Reyes (Pennsauken/Pennsauken) each contributed one defensive save for the Ospreys.
Elizabethtown goalie Margo Donlin finished with five saves in the contest. The Blue Jays outshot Stockton 18-10 on the night.
Stockton will continue its four-game homestand on Saturday when the Ospreys host New Paltz at 1 pm.
