Wayne, NJ – Stockton University (9-3-2, 2-2-1 NJAC) allowed two second half goals and fell to William Paterson (6-4-3, 2-1-2 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon. The loss stopped the Ospreys brief two match winning streak.

The Ospreys held a 5-2 advantage during the first half in shots with three being on net.
Larry Abanilla (Union/Union Catholic) squeezed off a pair of attempts, then
John Maxted (Middletown/Middletown North) fired a shot with five minutes left in the period. All three were kicked aside and the half ended in a 0-0 tie.

The Pioneers broke the scoreless drought at 72:07 off a corner kick. The kick went into the box and another feed found Jordan Saling who scored for the 1-0 lead. Stockton could not break through the Pioneers defense and the home team added an insurance tally with 24 seconds left to set the final score at 2-0.

Dino Gromitsaris (Bordentown/Bordentown) took the loss in net making two saves. Abanilla led the Ospreys with four of the five shots on goal for the afternoon.

Thomas Hatch posted the shutout for the Pioneers, kicking out five Osprey attempts.

Stockton will return home on Wednesday night for their next match. The Ospreys will face The College of New Jersey. Game time is set for 7pm.
