Glassboro, N.J. – Stockton University (7-2-2, 1-1-1 NJAC) had its nine-game unbeaten streak (7-0-2) snapped with a 2-0 defeat in an NJAC match at #17 Rowan University (6-1-3, 2-0-1). The Profs were the second ranked opponent that Stockton has played this year.
Christian Bik (Vineland/St. Augustine Prep) topped the Ospreys with four of his team's 11 shots while
John Maxted (Middletown/Middletown North) registered two shots on goal. Goalkeeper
Dino Gromitsaris (Bordentown/Bordentown) made one save in the contest.
The Ospreys outshot Rowan 8-6 in the first half, including four shots on goal, but they trailed 1-0 on a tally by Rowan's Chad Yates 14:46 into the game. Stockton back
Drew Ruble (Medford/Shawnee) then was given his second card of the game and sent off with just 1:20 gone in the second half.
The Ospreys were forced to play a man short the rest of the way, a span of 43:40, and they were unable to mount a rally while playing shorthanded. Rowan added an insurance goal in the 69th minute and blanked Stockton 2-0.
Stockton will host Ramapo in an NJAC game at G. Larry James Stadium on Saturday at 1 p.m.
